Stalactite is an architectural installation emerged out of a digital form-finding process. In a behavior mimicking natural formation, its organic form is tessellated into 684 individual cells. The cells are joined together forming a total of 12 curved surfaces. The resulting structure creates a network of voids whereby visitors would feel drawn into. The intricate spatial quality of the work invites the viewer to be embraced by its enclosure. Moreover, its resemblance to natural formations and organisms provokes feelings of compassion and familiarity.
